A bar

catching crayfish

A favorite summer passtime was catching crabs and crawfish in the river.

Summer also meant swimming in the Naab River. No one had a real bathing suit at that time. The girls just used safety-pins to secure their skirts or aprons between their legs.

No matter what the weather, the mail stage from Wildenreuth arrived at the railroad station every day at exactly 8 a.m.!
